Aim
The Art & History Database (AHDB) is an ongoing collation of information on art and history resources on the web.

Implementation
Project commenced 1st November 2010. The title AHDB was chosen with the view to map the portal page to a simple web address.On Friday 5th November 2010, the ahdb.org domain enabled public access to search and registration functions

Search modes
i. Google Custom Search. Built with Google CSE tool, operates off a specific list of sites. Uses the custom search engine on the Home page to find specific entries on a certain artist or topic.Monthly report of number of sites contained will be issued

ii. Site list (online database)
Allows quick search and ID of sites with key areas of interest. eg. Renaissance, Baroque. RSS and Twitter feed enables automated notification of approved sites via subscription.

Quality control
Upon successful registration, sites are reviewed and allocated by the AHDB administrator
